Advanced Structural Explosive Breaching
50 training hours (5 days)
Cost: $1495

This course is for teams that have an explosive breaching capability for explosively breaching doors and windows, as well as an established certified team standard operating procedure for the handling and use of breaching explosives.

Prerequisites:

Restricted to full time law enforcement/Bomb Techs/federal officers assigned to an EOD unit or SWAT/SRT team breaching cell, or military personnel with a Basic Explosive Breaching certificate.

Subjects include:

  • Review of the theory of explosives
  • Liability / Documentation / Breacher's book
  • Explosive breaching SOP's
  • Review of charge calculations
  • Overpressure and fragmentation mapping
  • Charge construction and delivery   
  • Breaching through- wall, ceiling, floor, and roofs
  • Breaching metal/steel doors
  • Multiple breaching (gun-porting/entry)
  • Defeating barricaded structures 
  • Deliberate emergency breaching techniques
  • Mission planning and briefing/debriefing
  • Scenario based training on actual structures

Equipment Needed:
  • Body armor
  • Load bearing vest
  • Primary weapon (MP5, M4, etc.)
  • Service pistol
  • Helmet
  • Respirator
  • Safety glasses or goggles
  • Ear protection
  • Assault gloves
  • Knee & elbow pads
  • Radio with ear piece and remote mike (if attending as a team)
  • Nomex balaclava
  • Nomex or other flame resistant clothing – BDU’s (recommended)
  • Straight bladed knife with sheath
  • Flashlight
  • First aid kit (personal)
  • Mirror (tactical) 
  • Calculator (Texas Instruments ti 30 x a solar)
  • Breacher’s shot data book 
  • Laptop computer (optional)
  • Waterproof notebook with pencil and pen
  • Rubber door wedges (2) (not mandatory)
  • Hydration system (CamelBak)
  • Camera (if you want to take pictures during the course)
